Pasadena, California

Matthew Shults grew up in South Pasadena and has been a local to the Los Angeles area his whole life. As a young athlete Matthew played every sport he could, his weekends filled with soccer, basketball, martial arts, and his personal favorite, baseball. 

 

Matthew started way back in tee ball and was a catcher from the start. As a kid, it was always his dream to play competitive ball in college. When his South Pasadena High School career ended, he played for two different junior colleges (PCC and ELAC) as a utility, where he was primarily a catcher, but also played outfield and did a bit of pitching. Soon after, he transferred to Westmont College where he was a catcher at that school for three years, loving every bit of it.
