Self Protection

The best fight is the one that never happens. But when escape is not an option, the element of surprise, fast action, and overwhelming fury is your best option to defeat an assailant. Just ask Sifu David Kerr, an expert in Wing Chun and a 5th-degree black belt in Daitō-ryū Aiki-jūjutsu. He's got a lifetime of fighting experience dating back to his teens. Then, death threats against his father brought strangers to their house and sparked an immediate need for self-protection. Since then, David has assembled his own fighting system called Kuaishou, teaching it to countless students, and conducting more than 250 seminars on self-protection for organizations such as LAPD, LA Sherriff's, and Federal Agents of The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco & Firearms (ATF), as well as faculty, staff, and students at USC, UCLA, Pacific Oaks, and the Los Angeles Unified School District.

Now you can train in Kuaishou, David Kerr's system. Boost confidence and protect yourself and your loved ones by knowing what to do if bad actors cross your path. Equally vital is learning to spot and avoid potential violence in the first place. Try a Self-Protection class for just $25 today!

Kerr's  Inside-Out self-protection system is the primary subject of his book "Idiots-to-Monsters -- the Essential Guide to Countering Common Threats and Violent Encounters."  Order Dave's Book or get more information on his talks, workshops, and seminars here!

The Art of Kuaishou

Kuaishou, (pronounced "ka-why-show"), Cantonese for "fast hands," is the fighting style assembled by David Kerr. It is highly effective and is exclusively trained at FitSport Kinetics in our self-protection classes. The fighting style is a hybrid of both new and centuries-old fighting arts, including boxing, Wing Chun, Muay Thai, Jiu-jitsu, and original techniques unique to the Kuaishou system.

Kuaishou Mastery Levels

There are four levels of Kuaishou mastery. The time required to master each level varies depending on training time, typically 1 -3 hours weekly.

Level One: Beginners (2-3 months)

Level Two: Intermediate  (6-24 months)

Level Three: Advanced (2-4 years)

Level Four: Instructor (3-5 years)

Level Five: Master Instructor (5 + years)
