"In every competition, there's a lesson learned."

Young athletes are naturally competitive, so it only made sense to make this year's Winter 5-week strength & speed camp a contest of commitment. Plus, it's more rewarding to discover that -- with effort -- your reach can exceed your grasp. The athlete showing the highest overall percentage improvement (using Proteus results), will be awarded a free gym membership for 2025.

Who should enroll?

Boys and girls ages 13+ from any sport, regardless of experience in weightlifting or speed and agility training will benefit from this focused 15-session strength & speed program.

Will I see results in 5 weeks?

Yes, if you put in the work, eat properly, and get plenty of sleep and water, you'll see the results -- not just in the mirror, but on the field or court. And we'll prove it to you with a 20-point full-body assessment using the state-of-the-art Proteus system.

What are the benefits of a Proteus assessment?

Led by CATZ Physical Therapist Kevin Wentz, this is a comprehensive assessment of power and velocity in a battery of sport-specific movements using the Proteus® Motion system combined with force-plate technology. In short, this is the most advanced technology to measure athletic performance.

This data immediately identifies areas of weakness, imbalances in muscles and joints, and areas that may be more susceptible to injury. The data also shows relative power and velocity scores when compared with the athlete's age and sports peers.

From the results, an individualized workout is then created for each athlete, allowing the strength and speed coaches to focus on precise exercises and drills to shore up weaknesses and bring the body into balance, including exercises using Proteus to build muscles associated with sport-specific movements. The assessment is repeated after the 5 weeks of training are complete and the results are shared with athletes and parents, either in person or by email.

How do I schedule the assesment?

The assessment requires a 20-minute appointment before the camp and again after the 5 weeks of training. Once enrolled, you will receive a confirmation email with a link to book your first appointment. The follow-up assessment will be booked at your first appointment.

What is the training schedule?

The camp consists of two weightlifting sessions and one speed & agility class weekly for 5-weeks (with a break for Christmas). Each session is one-hour and designated weightlifting sessions are organized by groups of 10 athletes per coach. Athletes may join any Level 2 or Level 3 speed and agility session offered during the week. Make up any missed weightlifting sessions with any regularly scheduled weightlifting classes.
